Let’s Keep Rhode Island Growing — Not Taxing
 
Rhode Island is gaining real momentum. We’re attracting new residents, creating high-paying jobs, and building competitive advantages in life sciences, cybersecurity, and advanced industries. But now, legislation is being considered that could jeopardize it all.

H 5473 and S 0329 — the so-called “millionaire’s tax” — would raise income taxes on high earners and send the wrong signal to job creators.

This proposal would make Rhode Island less competitive for businesses at the very moment we’re pulling ahead of other states. We already offer a lower cost of living, a lower corporate tax rate, and a better quality of life compared to places like Boston. Let’s build on that — not reverse it.

Massachusetts has seen an exodus since adopting its own high-earner tax, ranking 7th in the nation for outbound moves. Meanwhile, Rhode Island ranked 5th in inbound migration. Our strategy is working — let’s not undo it.
