Rhode Island Non-Profits Benefit from BCSB CARES: Employee Volunteer Day
Bristol County Savings Bank (BCSB), headquartered in Taunton, Massachusetts, recently held its fourth annual BCSB CARES: Employee Volunteer Day. The Bank closed all its offices, and more than 300 Bank employees, along with its affiliates, Bristol Wealth Group and Milestone Mortgage Solutions, spent the afternoon giving back at 18 different sites across the Bank’s service area in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
“As we are a mutual bank, giving back to the community is what we’re all about and the latest example is our volunteer day and help from hundreds of our employees,” said John Silva, President & CEO of Bristol County Savings Bank. “Our focus is on moving forward to help give back as we feel this directive gives us the best opportunity to strengthen the communities where we all live and work.”
The organizations served by this year’s Employee Volunteer Day included: TAUNTON AREA – Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South (Camp Riverside), City of Taunton/Weir Waterfront Park, My Brother’s Keeper (Easton), Old Colony Habitat for Humanity and PRIDE, Inc.; ATTLEBORO AREA – Attleboro/Norton YMCA (Camp Finberg), Camp Ramsbottom (Rehoboth) and the Hockomock Area YMCA; GREATER NEW BEDFORD – Gifts to Give (Acushnet), My Brother’s Keeper (Dartmouth), The Marion Institute (Frogfoot Farm in Wareham) and 3rd Eye Youth Empowerment; GREATER FALL RIVER – Battleship Cove and Fall River Deaconess Home; and RHODE ISLAND – Books Are Wings (Pawtucket), Crossroads Rhode Island (Providence), Feed RI (Rumford) and YMCA of Pawtucket.
